Dan Valcu has over 25 years of experience applying technical analysis in the financial markets. His articles and studies have been published in Technical Analysis for Stocks and Commodities, Trader's Magazine, and other publications for the technical analysis community.
Starting his research in Spring 2003, he was the first author to bring from Japan and promote in the West the Heikin-Ashi trend technique both as a visual and quantifiable instrument in 2004. As a result, Heikin-Ashi is largely adopted and used by traders and a component of many trading platforms today.
Mr. Valcu develops trading/investing strategies based on the Heikin-Ashi technique in both formats. His two books on Heikin-Ashi, a world premiere, are written for traders/investors who need a simple technique to highlight the trend, reduce the noise, and alert about possible trend reversals. His books are a guide for easily translating candlesticks patterns and combining Heikin-Ashi with established techniques and indicators.
An active promoter of technical analysis, Mr. Valcu wrote several books about this subject and strategies. He served for six years as Director on the Board of the International Federation of Technical Analysis (IFTA) and holds the professional designation as a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe). He is a speaker at various events, offers training, seminars, and trading camps in technical analysis and risk management.
